Farmer Field Schools are peer-to-peer learning opportunities for farmers in rural, developing areas. They are a Plant With Purpose platform that allows farmers to teach and train each other with sustainable agriculture methods. These activities build and enrich communities as neighbors work together to heal their ecosystem.
This purchase will fund a quarter of the operating costs of a new Farmer Field School. Field Schools can operate indefinitely, but frequently have a life cycle of 7-12 years. After that amount of time, farmers will on average increase their crop yield by 44% and eliminate two-thirds of their poverty.
This purchase will help fund the launch of a Farmer Field School in one of the following countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Haiti, Mexico, Tanzania, or Thailand.
